Francis Mihm started his ballet training at the age of 12 in Dubuque, Iowa at the Heartland Academy of Ballet under Marina O’Rourke and Megan MacLeod. He attended numerous summer intensives with American Ballet Theatre and Milwaukee Ballet. Francis graduated from Butler University with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Arts Administration. Along with his ballet training at Butler, Francis studied Modern Dance (Taylor, Graham, Cunningham), Jazz, Improv, Character dance, and choreography. He performed lead roles in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty and in contemporary pieces such as Paul Taylor’s Piazzolla Caldera, Gerald Arpino’s Light Rain, and the world premiere of Patrick de Bana’s Falling Sky. Francis had the opportunity to choreograph on the Butler Dance department in collaboration with Cynthia Pratt for her project Gallery of Memories. Since joining Orlando Ballet in 2020, he has performed in The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, as well as, Jorden Morris’ Moulin Rouge and Peter Pan. A highlight of his first season with Orlando Ballet was performing in Robert Hill’s duet Isn’t it a Pity.
